This all-female group of 9th graders performs a variety of choral literature written specifically for women's voices. The Freshman Women's Chorus performs in three concerts a year, as well as other school and community performances upon request. Students are encouraged to participate in OMEA Solo and Ensemble Contest. Participation in all performances is mandatory, and some after school rehearsals are required. Concert dress is required. This class serves as a second choir for students who wish to delve a little deeper into choral literature and technique, and perform simple choreography. The Chamber Singers perform three concerts a year, as well as other school and community performances upon request. This group also participates in OMEA Solo and Ensemble contest, as well as a shared concert with the Grove City Chamber Singers adult community choir. Participation in all performances is mandatory, and the student must also be a member of Women’s Chorus or Men’s Chorus. Invitation to join is through permission of the director. Some after school rehearsals are required, and apparel expenses are involved.
Hand Bell Choir is open to any students who are interested in learning the technique of hand bell ringing. Students do not need to have any experience in hand bells, but music reading experience is helpful.
